Alex Jeynes

I’m a Scottish photographer working between snow, surf and soil wherever the weather shifts and sport aligns. My work follows the seasons, skiing through winter, surfing through summer and finding dirt and rock somewhere in between, always chasing the mix of movement, light and atmosphere that makes a moment worth remembering.

I started as a ski instructor in 2015, spending winters teaching across Canada, Japan and the Alps. From instructing, I moved into guiding, chasing deeper lines and more remote terrain, including trips to Argentina and multiday backcountry missions in Hokkaido. I picked up a camera in 2019 and it quickly became a way to tell the same stories I was living, capturing everything from epic powder days to the weathered shores of Scotland when the swells rolled in.

My photography and skiing have been featured in Warren Miller films as well as being published in well-known editorial listings. I’ve built projects that sit somewhere between documentary and adventure photography, honest, dynamic and rooted in place. Whether I’m working with a brand, an athlete or following a story that feels right, my aim is simple: to create images that feel lived, not staged.

Based in Scotland and available for projects worldwide, I split my time between personal work and commissioned assignments, covering events and collaborating with brands, and always chasing the next weather window.
