We are the University of Edinburgh Surfing and Windsurfing Club (aka EUWSC). Established in 1981, we’ve been hosting lessons, weekly socials, and trips, and competing in local and national surf competitions for over 50 years, working to expand access to both surfing and windsurfing in the Edinburgh and East Lothian area. We are open to both students and non-students, hosting over 350 members last academic year. Members of our club gain access to equipment, trips, lessons, and have a chance to meet like-minded people, from complete beginners to advanced surfers.
In the past year, we’ve had our girls team place 3rd at BUCS National Surfing Championships 2023, and our very own Oscar Bousser and Archie Gilmour place 3rd and 4th respectively at the Scottish Universities Surfing Championships in April 2024.
We are committed first and foremost to safety and sharing the fun of surfing, working closely with other University surf clubs and the SSF to promote the surfing community in Scotland.
