Peter is a Scottish photographer and film maker who is utterly obsessed by his trade. It is not worth over complicating what his work means to him – simply put it is his absolute passion.
With both his parents having worked on commercial aircraft, Peter experienced a rare upbringing which spanned across various corners of the globe. Since a young age he showed an innate curiosity towards the natural world and a recognisable talent within the arts. At merely 11 years old he came first at the Scottish National Art Gallery Competition. Peter’s distinct interest in the environment and foreign cultures led him to read Human Geography at the London School of Economics, where he graduated with first class honours. A degree where more than half of which was completed whilst he was locked down in remote corners of Indonesia during COVID-19.
As non-uniform as his upbringing might seem, throughout his career, Peter consistently delivers fascinating imagery in all kinds of environments. Over the years he has worked on personal projects and assignments in more than 30 countries around the world, from London to Lisbon, from Delhi to the Himalayas and from Thailand to Sumatra.
Most recently Peter has been spending time working in Nazare with Redbull’s Big Wave Athletes. Shooting in the most challenging of waters, amongst such a tight circle within surf culture has only been possible due to the immense time he has invested into the ocean and his photography. Equipped with proficiency in 4 languages (English, French, Spanish & Indonesian) and an undeniable comfort in deadly waves, Peter truly thrives in challenging and foreign situations. In fact many of his client’s and followers argue, that it is there, in those moments where most would stop that Peter creates his best work.
